Try this:
Sit down on the ground with you feet shoulder width apart. Have someone give you a hand and pull you up. While you are being pulled up, move into a squat position and let your butt hit your heels and then stand up.
Getting up on a wakeboard is the same motion, just with a handle. You also must let your dominate foot drift forward once the board is under you. That is sometimes easier if you let go with your rear hand.
To determine your dominate foot, have someone push you from behind. The foot you catch yourself with goes in front.
