Is there anything wrong with having a bigger alternator?
I've installed a dual battery system and I'm looking at a compatible 78Amp alternator (I assume the original one my 5.0L Mercruiser churned out 55amps).

Is there any downside to a bigger alternator, for example would you need to idle at higher revs to get a proper charge?
