If you are being pulled from the ski eye then just be really patient and don't try to stand up to quickly. Have the driver accelerate slowly at first.
I am 5'11" 220lbs behind an 18 foot Baja with th e same motor. It was tough the first couple of times but I found the more patient I was and let the boat pull me the easier it got. I put a Monster Tower on the boat and the difference is massive. I pop out of the water like I weighed 120. That motor has plenty of power. Just let you ass hit your heels and hold on. The board might look like it is starting to sink but that is what you want, it is leveling off and starting to plane. The sooner the board gets like that the less pressure you will feel from the board pushing so much water.
