you mean a 'hydrofoil' for a sterndrive.. yeah those things are great for getting on plane faster and keeping the nose down.. but do nothing for your wake! :P they are a worthwhile purchase but not to enhance your wake.. they don't really do much for it.. unless maybe if you trim up a bit and let it dig down.

a fat sack keeps the whole of the boat down, not jsut the stern.. if you see a boat going along with a load of weight in the back then it is almost certainly incorectly weighted. with a very high.. but not so useful wake. generally you want 60% weght in the stern and 40% in the bow.. but its no exact science... it takes a little bit of experementation to get that huge big wake that also has a nice shape to it.
