Default Jet Boat

My dad is getting a jet boat after I begged him to get a wakeboard boat. He said you could get flaps to put on the boat to create a wake because it is almost a flat-bottomed boat. Is this true and can a jet boat be used as a wakeboard boat or am I out of luck?

your dad is talking about a tab system that Tige boats created. this system causes the boat to throw less wake for skiers. he also might be talking about a wedge, like what malibu uses, it is a foil that digs into the water and sucks the ass end down to create a larger wake. this concept would rip the transom off of the jet boat because it is not built for such a system. and the tab would reverse what you want. i have used the jet boats to board behind, its not the greatest and its not the worst. be glad that you dad is not purchasing a canoe.

Thanks for the help...you said that you have ridden behind them before and I was wondering how well you can get air off the wake? Is it not good or just alright. Even if it doesn't turn out to be a good boarding boat I am pumped out throwing some sweet 360's in it.

i have access to a see doo challenger, it helps out in a pinch when my friends dont have their boat out. the jet thrust disturbs the water and makes it real choppy. like i said the wake could be better, but its not because the boats hull isnt designed to throw a solid wake, you could load it up with weight but that severly effects the performance esp. in the jet boats. it is what it is
