Default Chris-Craft sacks, tower, wedges. Need bigger air.

I have a 20 foot inboard-outboard chris-craft with a volvo penta engine. It has plenty of HP to pull a wakeboarder/skier. I've been wakeboarding for a good 5 years now. I dont use a tower, or weight sacks. Ide like to be able to get more air. What would be a good thing to start off with? Will a tower really make that much of a difference? Right now i just use the ski hookup down by the rear. Ive also heard of wedges to shape the wake so you can get more air. Those sound pretty good, but they dont make them for chris-crafts do they? Or should i just put some weight sacks in the back of the boat? Is that a very big pruduction? Thanks for the help.

No wedge for the CC. Incompatible with the outdrive.

Waterfilled sacks will get the wake bigger. It will make the boat sluggish out of the hole. I sell a sack that is 58X18X14 and weighs about 540 when filled. It is made of the material used for inflatable boats, so they are really tough. $140 Each shipped. Regular bags go from $60-$150, depending upon manufacturer, model, and size. You will also need a pump.

The tower give you hang time. You get pulled up, rather than down. You need a big wake first. Both is much better. Good towers start at $1,000 and up. Main sweet spot in the market is $1,500 for a good tower with some racks. My favorites are Loud Liquid and JoyStick (those I sell). I also have a lot of respect for Monster Tower (manufacturer direct).

How about just a pylon? I've seen them in overtons mag. before. It's just a large pole with a support that wraps around the nose of the boat. That would give me about the same rope hight. Would i be missing any other benefits that i would get with a tower? I was also looking at the Skylon FAT BOY sac which makes the boat around 550 pounds heavier. Then the Fat sac Pump. Would that make much difference in my wake? If you havn't realized yet, i'm only 15 years old and dont have much money to spare :?

A tower is not going to make your boat rock side to side as much as a pylon. A tower is also out of the way, up off the floor. I also think that on your boat a pylon will need support rods, and those take up a lot of space. It will need those because your boat does not have a skiing pylon already in the boat (like in most inboards). I had a glastron a few years ago and I put a monkey bar from flyhigh on it. It's is a little more expensive than a pylon, but cheaper than a tower, and you get all the benefits of a tower except for a cable to the bow. I also put in some fat sacs, it turned out to be a decent wakeboard boat for a glastron.
If any of that is unclear, let me know, I can try to rephrase it.
What part of New Hampshire are you in?

I'm around the Peterborough area, south of Concord. Usually just hang oround the local lake and board, but i take a few trips a year up to winneppesaukee. You anywhere around those parts? Well anyway, that monkey bar sounds like a pretty good idea. I think im goin to look at something like that for starters and then maybe get some weight sacs later down the road. Thanks for the help.
