Default Moomba Outback V , information request.

I'm toying (seriously) with the idea of buying a brand new Moomba Outback V for wakeboarding in the 2007 season.
Does anyone have any experience with this boat?
Any advice , tips , pointers?
Should i get the basic package and basic engine , or go all out and get the top end engine and all the add-ons?
What's the wake like?
I'm in England , and no-one has one of these here yet , so i can't trial one.
Any info gratefully received.

When i looked @ Moomba the Moomba Mobulis LSV was about the same price as the outback as the mobulus came with a lot of extra's the outback did not, and once you added them to the outback it was much the same price, and the mobulis is a better boat, Steve @ skiers choice has a Mobulis LSV you can demo i think in cirencester.

Cheers

Ross,
Steve at Skiers Choice says an older Moomba will be at the club over the next 2 weeks , if it is , and you see it , let me know , as i am on holiday until 8th August unfortunately.

The Outback V is the one i want , (as its a 2006 model) for the cost , length and weight are the deciding factor for me , i agree the other moombas are maybe slightly better , but only slightly , and i'm no Shaun Murray , so i probably wouldnt be able to take full advantage of them!!!

Anyway , depending on the overall cost from a UK sales outlet , i'm probably going to be able to save myself thousands by containering it over from the states by a shipping agent.

Just think , if you didn't buy that house , you could have bought a new boat!!!

I'll be ridering there tommorrow so i'll keep an eye out for it, I will be videoing the runs tommorrow as well so I will do a bit of the outback on tape for you.

First run on my new Hyperlite parks & Ultra's in the morning, looking forward to it.

Cheers
Ross

You'll do well containering it over fella. Wakeboard boats don't fit in a container.

The only option you will have is RORO, more than containerised shipping but not by much. Expect to pay £2k.

Default Wakeboard boats fitting in containers

Wakeboard boats fit in containers same as any other small motor boat , i recently shipped one over (moomba outback2003 model) from Singapore for a friend , via Southampton.

Cost £3185 to ship from Asia in a 40ft container , which i filled with other gear too , to make it worth the while, through a shipping agent in Germany.

It was either that or deck cargo , at only £1950 , but obviously more chance of it getting dinged on the way over.

I need to get some quotes on shipping through a boat importer first as they get best price.

RORO is expensive , yes , hopefully won't be an option.

Did you ship one over recently?
