Default Malibu Wakesetter VLX?

Hi,
im looking for a new (well...secondhand) boat for the summer.
I currently have a nautique 196 with a tower and looking for a bigger boat. I have seen a 2004 Malibu Wakesetter VLX and just wanted opinions on them in general ...build quality and most important the wake.
cheers
chris

Default Vlx

I have an 04 VLX. Love the boat, great wake. This boat requires a lot of weight in the aft. I usually run the stock ballast + 750 in the back on the floor, wedge down, and maybe another 400+ in the middle if I only have 3 riders. At 65' this gives a great shape and a steeper face. The wedge up will slope the face and make it a little rampier. Hope this helps.

We have one out in california... theyre flippin awesome. It verges on mastercraftness.. not quite but lets keep the value ofr money in mind... theyre great. really nice shape of wake, and really nice to drive, the perf pass system is one of the nicer ones.. just dont get it very wet! Wedge works well... although makes steering at low speeds near impossible with the ballast in and wedge down... hence the fork on the x series.
