Never used the 303 cleaner but the protectant is great for keeping your vinyl soft and supple. It stops it drying out and hence cracking. It also helps to keep it clean as dirt doesn't stick to it.

Only use a bit though as you'll end up with very slippery seats!

Oh its great on just about every other bit of the boat too.

I never really bought into that cleaning bollox myself. As for duck poop, the more the merrier - saves carrying lube around for the strapons.

Yeah, ducks and them gooses drop more than their fair share of effluent. When I had a boat on a lake every session included a 5 minute pooper scooping start.

My tips would be:
1) have a totally water repellent cover if you have bird excrement problems (e.g. plastic coated tarps) Don't get a cotton style cover, they rot from the poo after a few months
2) make it tricky for the birds to perch easily. E.g. run a pole from the top of the windscreen to the rear of the boat. The less flat areas on the cover the less the ducks can sit and release their cargo.

Just realised I can get a free £10 boots voucher for spending it up on my credit card over the last month so rather than buy the wife a new lippy I'll get some cleaning sponges for the boat!

As for keeping ducks off, maybe one of those pet deterrent thingies that makes a high pitched sound would work?

Our ducks arn't fussed really ... tried a tarp cover & a cotton one no difference at all. Also we have a frame inside the boat for when it rains, so that the cover is tight so water runs clear. I reckon best answer use it day & night therefore no ducks get the oportunity to rest .. in an ideal world ah well...
