A paddle wheel measures speed and no it isn’t susceptible to misreading like capillary speedo pickups.

I've not heard of anyone having jam issues with their paddle wheels.... it's flush to the hull so doesn't have the capacity to collect weed easily like a wheel mounted on the transom does.
If you don't want the risk of weeds jamming at all you could get the cheaper RPM based Perfect Pass which works by holding the revs of your engine (constantly adjusting to keep them very accurate)... not as accurate at speed holding as the full wakeboard pro PP system but good none the less. |
