Closed Water Cooling LPG Issue
Hi All,
Does anybody know how much water to fill the filler tank with on a GT40 with closed water cooling. The issue was: Our boat has been freezing the carbs (LPG) when idling for 5 mins or so, after trying to find an air leak every where i checked the filler tank and it was almost empty, so i added 2 litres of water and then idled the boat for 15mins and no freezing :-), then checked the filler tank again and it was about 3 inches from the filler cap down, is this normal or should it stay filled to the top?? On my mates air nautique I think the header tank was always kept about 2/3 full which should be about what yours is now. You should top up with antfreeze though not water as it will help both cooling and help prevent freezing of the vaporiser.
