Thumbs up My new Moomba Mobius V

Finally decided to give up looking at overpriced U.K. wakeboard boats and bought a 7 year old 22ft Moomba Mobius V drive on eBay from Florida.
Cost me $25000, and i will pay 17.5% duty plus £950 shipping, but i got the owner to lower the price on the bill and Mr Taxman is happy.
Okay, it is a bit of hassle arranging it all, but at least i'll have a loaded boat in much better condition at a cheaper price than i could ever get here in the U.K. and i can get a few seasons out of it and still make money.
I had a friend view the boat and i am delighted to say it's not a scam.
I will have it ready for next season and am hoping the weather will be better.
I was going to look at a Prostar 205, 10 years old and they wanted £17000 for it in U.K.!!! (This Moomba will cost me £16000 total door to door

My advice..... buy from the states direct, save a small fortune in the long run, and you can even get a shipping broker to arrange pickup wherever it is and they will deiver it to your door in the U.K. for a small fee.

Yes i wanted a red one.....i saw a red one today same type....but didnt have the fuel injected engine.

What can you do......you wait until the last second to buy then 2 seconds later an even better one comes along....guess thats boat buying for you.

Maybe i'll get the red one after this one..... or maybe change the colour of this one!?!?

Wolfstone, did you check if the boat carries a CE approval? All boats manufactured after 1998 (or threabouts) and shipped to Europe will need the CE approval to gain insurance . You may not get stuck but it would cost you to have the boat inspected and type approval issued

Without CE approval you will struggle to resell it, insure it and even launch and moor it in the UK.
And your US trailer is illegal for road use here too.

Fu*k me Dave it almost sounds like you are becoming a law abiding citizen, worrying about trailers and the such like!

Agreed though, you may struggle to insure / resell (although at the right price theirs always someone who will pay) / launch etc.

Personally I would have no problem with a non CE boat as theirs the only real difference between a CE and Non CE boat is £2k and a sticker, and lets be honest you can buy stickers!!
