Default CE Approval

Does anybody know what the difference is between a CE approved Mastercraft and a US import one. Apart from the obvious huge wedge of cash and a sticker.

The reason I ask is Im looking to change my boat and the import route is tempting, I know is technically against the rules but I dont believe for one second that UK boats are made to a higher standard that US ones.

I have heard the only real difference is a fire extingisher in the engine bay and obvioulsy the trailer.

Any commets welcome.

Global Trade Partners UK

Their business is importing new and used boats from the US at a saving on the UK price...

they 'should' know all u need to know!

just dug this link out about getting a boat ce marked over here... they will quote you on a boat if you need,

CE Proof

I have seen them before they have their boats advertised in several places.

I just really want to know what the specific differences are between a UK and US spec boat. When you speak to dealers they act like imports are sub standard. I realise they are just trying to protect their market but they never seem to be able to give specifics.

About the only difference I've seen on CE approved boats are the drip tray that is under the engine to prevent oil entering the bilge.

Global trade partners have some nice stern drives but their MC's are always over priced in my opinion.

Oh and if you import a pre 97 then there's no need to bother with CE approval.
