Anybody any idea where i would get an idle bypass valve (without it taking 3 weeks!), the 1996 PCM GT40 engine was the same as a Ford F150 Truck in those year I've been told.

Got the new IAC valve but no difference :-( .... BUT one of my friends then disconnected a small 10p coin sized sensor with 2 screws thats sits on top the throttle body and the boat now idles fine ?? He could not remember whats it was called but said his car did the same once and that what it was.
Any ideas what this is, it seemed to have fixed the issue? rossl |

Don't know anything specifically about the system on your motor, but in the location you descibe it's likely to be either a potentiometer - tells the management what position the throttle butterfly is in, or an initial position switch - tells the management that the throttle is open and that it should switch from idle fueling to run fueling map.
Does it give a slight click when the throttle is first opened? if so it's the latter. |

Thanks for that, have found a pic of it on an other site and its the TPS (throttle position sensor). Seems to change the fueling, but as our boat has been converted to Single point LPG sucked in through the throttle body, not sure if it does anything on my setup.
