Default Boat Insurance

My boat insurance is due and I'm wondering who you UK boat owners are insured with. Currently got Navigators and General who have been a bit of a pain to deal with when I joined up with them last year. Haven't had to claim from them so can't comment on their service when it matters.

I've also used Carters, though when I called them last year they had lost my old records and had been taken over so I didn't know whether they were still good...

Any suggestions welcome

Ross, cheers, have requested a quote... will see how it stacks up against the Navigators and General renewal.

CraftInsure.com, specialists in boat insurance, yacht insurance and dinghy insurance. Provides quotes and cover 24/7 at super competitive prices, all at the touch of a button. Boats covered are boats, yachts, dinghys, sailboats, cabin cruisers, launc

I have only ever used them because you can do it online quickly and you dont have to spend hours and hours on the phone. I not sure how cheap they are. My cover costs approx 1% of my boat value to I think its ok

Myself and a few other club members use Nautical insurance. They proved to be quite a bit cheaper than Carters who I was previously with.

I am with craftinsure.com as well. Less than £200 per year and they take it by instalments via a credit card with no extra interst charges. At renewal they email you your new costs, alter credit card charge and away you go without forgetting to renew.

But saying that looking at all the club members boat insurance costings Norwich union Sailplan Pleasurecraft policy does look as if its the cheaper option as they tend to give a no claims discount.
