On a closed cooled boat no need to drain the heater as its full of antifreeze.

Getting to the raw water hoses on a vdrive is pretty tricky but I'm a big guy and I can squeeze down the side of the engine. Long arms certainly help.

Was -4 here last night and the lake was frozen again. Hope its thawed out for saturday.

MY gawd! Dont' start me on tricky places to get your hand to... just spent the last 2 hours in the freezing cold outside trying to thread the oil quick drain hose out of the bung hole on the back of the maxum... My arm now looks like its been attacked by a ninja and the effort was truly not worth it....

Winterising begins tomorrow.... engine drained but needs servicing and protecting.

Rant over.

haha, 4 gallons of oil into the Menai straits... talk about ****ting on your own doorstep! hehe

Didn't change the oil in the end as it was still crystal clear (well.. honey clear). did the drive lube, filled the block with antifreeze mix (should be good to at least -5 internally so not worried now) and fogged it to death.....

Yeah oil stays pretty clean when you don't use the boat!!

Our MC is due for an oil change soon and we only got it at the end of september . Think thats clocked up as many hours as the Maxum this year.
