Default Boat Insurance

Just had my renewal though the post today and yet again the premium has gone up by another 30 quid.

My company is GJW Direct/Groves, John and Westrup (the old RA Carters I think) and they want £350- inc my 55% No claims discount.

They provide me with a standard waterski/watersports package with all the adequate cover needed. The cover is set up/endorsed by the BWS federation.

My boat is a 2001 20ci Tige kept next to our inland club (river) and is fully secured. It is only towed on the road once a year.

Does anyone know of any cheaper options without skimping on the amount of cover I require?

Thanks

Hi,

Try this company that I insure my jetski with, always seem very competitive, and you can get a quote online:

Boat Insurance from Noble Marine - Insure your boat online

Try Nautical Insurance Services Ltd 57 Elm Road Leigh-On-Sea Essex SS9 1SP Tel: 01702 470811

That's who I'm with. They were cheaper than Carter/GJW.

You can also try Welcome to Craftinsure.com Boat insurance but I'm not 100% sure if their towed watersports cover is as good as the others.

Guys,

Just a bit of feedback....

Rang all the above for quotes. All did similar types of cover... i.e some had higher excess's, different restrictions (inflatables not covered), accidental damage not/included etc etc. But in general all much of a muchness!

Nobles were the most expensive at just over £400 with all the others (Nautical, Euro/Marinesafe and Craft Insure) coming in at £270 give or take a few £'s.

Was set to go with Euro/Marinesafe, but when I called Carters/GJW to cancel, they adjusted the premium and came in at £258! Was happy with that as they knocked nearly £100 off of what my renewal was, so I stayed loyal.

Thanks for the help and just goes to show its worth ringing around.

Wow thats great. When I tried the same last year the lady on the end of the phone at GJW really couldn't get to grips with the idea of playing one broker off against the other suffice to say I changed companies.

just a update with Carters/GJW i did not have as much success as Hardsuction but managed to get 30 quid of my renewal quote by making one call not bad.

gives me some money towards something more interesting like some new bindings.
