I've done a bit of zooming in on the pics and it seems the wires from the lock off are spliced into you ignition harness. If this is the case you don't have a safety switch installed and the fault may well be with your deadmans switch as previously suggested.

Bypass this wire a length or wire or a paper clip and let us know.

Got a guy coming to do the work on Sat, so I've printed this thread off to show him.

Thank god the weathers been lousy!

My mechanic came and did his stuff and sourced the problem to the oil pressure kill switch. It was this that was killing the engine as a safety measure for no oil pressure!

He showed me how to by-pass it for starting and running the engine just to get me on the water until my part arrives from KEYPART. Whilst there he did various other little jobs on the boat.

I would like to recommend him as a mechanic and anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable and extremely reasonable technician should PM me. He operates in the Gloucester area but will travel.

New parts arrived today and will be fitted at the weekend along with my new tower speakers - thanks Mike!

Thanks to all for your time and help.
