Hoping that they will replace the cables at Notts, as they've been in place for the last 6 years, was told they need to be changed every 2 years.
They had an incident few weeks ago when 1 of the cables almost frayed through because the runners inside the wheels had worn away causing metal on metal friction.

Don't listen to what everyone tells you about running wires. As long as the wires don't suffer damage through a derail or other unintended wear they can last from 5 -8 years or beyond.

Damage from worn pulley linnings just shows that notts was busier than they expected and so the linnings wore faster than they had planned for their maintenance.

Cables are complex machines which everyone has an opinion about when it comes to maintenance etc. End of the day support your cables so more keep on getting put up! and we can all enjoy dirt cheap riding with sick obstacles
