Keep up the good work. Just had an e-mail from someone who is involved with a wakeboarding publication. He clearly does not like the idea of new blood. Bit of a shame really, for him that is. New blood, new ideas, new future. |

I think that 2007 will be a great year for Wakeboarding and it will be an even better year if everyone pulls together and works as a team to achieve our goals.
In light of your post its a shame that everyone isn't pulling together and i don't think it helps any progression what so ever! Im all for a new future with new people with fresh new ideas - change brings new opportunities and in many cases, much needed progression. |

carve,
So where do you reckon the progression is needed then... are you talking new tricks, better facilities, or comps etc...? ![]()

From my point of view, don't we need to have an end result in mind before we can progress to it? From what i have read on this forum, i think people would like something along the lines that the US guys have? I dont see why this can't be achieved - we have the lakes and the riders. I know what the initial reaction to this is, we need money and better weather etc etc The Pro Tour started in the US and they made it so good that money came to them, not the other way around. So i guess in answer to your question, i think we need something along the lines of a national series. Almost any other sport in the UK has a national series - Golf, Football, Motocross, hell even things like chess have their own national series. I dont want to turn this into another post about 'The progression of our sport' as there have been pleanty of these before. Another point i have (as implied by my previous post) is that people preventing new ideas purely because they simply don't like them or because THEY dont see how it would work, isn't the right approach. Am i wrong??? We all have our own opinions on here and all have what we think should happen. But in my dealings with Relentless, Pump and other Wakestuff supporters, everyone seems to want to pull together and work at things together - not get in the way and take all the glory or do it alone. I think that some of the biggest progressions in the sport are the ones that people criticise in the first instance. Like imagine someone saying years ago "one day we'll have boats with ballast systems and people will land 1080's" once upon a time that sounded silly and impossible and if posted on a forum like this would have been shot down in flames. This is only my view as always and i have heard before that unless you listen to other people, how are you ever meant to learn anything. So we did listen and now we have Wakestuff and more in the pipeline. I still continue to listen. . . Hope this answers your question. Thanks JP www.Wakestuff.co.uk |

Wakestuff will have its critic's, just like any new business. The critic's generally will be individuals who see change as a threat to their domenence.
What Wakestuff does is listen. You will get know where in business these days unless you are prepared to listen to each and all. Wouldn't be great if you could produce a publication to the market, running the same format as Wakestuff. Sadly, that wont be the case until certain individuals listen to what people want, rather than print what they like. Continue the good work Jonathan as we will continue with our support Pump Urbanwear Last edited by PUW; 15th February 2007 at 02:32 PM. |
