Default London boat riding

I've just moved down from Loughborough Uni' where I rode boat and cable regularly.

It comes as a bit of a shock to be paying £22 per 15 min set and have real inflexibility and friendliness of boat riding.

Was wondering if there's anyone around with private boat (i.e. within 1-1.5 hours drive from Fulham West London) who needs some extra peop's in the boat for the winter and/or next season?

If not can anyone recommend anywhere for some decent boat riding within that area??

cheers
Harry

Harry Oxford is about an hour from there. For non members it's £20 but if you join which is £240 at present you can pay £10 / £11 per tow behind an X2 for a 15 minute set. Those are 2005 prices so might change a bit for next year but still pretty good

dave D,

yeah, it wasn't actually the uni that had a boat and cable.

I kinda started the club there and got us sorted riding boats in leicester (X2) for bout £10 per set, and up in sheffield on cable for another real good rate.

u may have heard bout the student nationals i organised with a mate there the summer just gone, was sweet!!

Chaterboy,

That sounds pretty sweet, think cause its near the end of the year i'll have to wait and see, but i've heard the club up there was close, so will just have to see what the journeys like from mine,

otherwise, if there's anyone closer let me know, am very willing to help out with whatever needs doin etc.

cheers everyone,
harry

as a student i think you can ride cable at Thorpe this time of year for a fiver all day.(not that you can last all day this time of year) have a look at uni riders link for contacts. portsmouth and southampton there most weekends. Its not boat but your only half hour away and bloody cheap.

Nick,

Unfortunately I've now become a working man in london, so student prices will not apply.

But am still pretty much in dept, and london doesn't help with that!! so i've gotta scrap the pockets to ride, especially at JB or princes (am riding there a bit, but not anywhere near as much as I need to!!).
