There really should be a club here in sheffield as it is the home of the student nationals and the cable is just down the road. Im a final year with bastard of a disertation to finish so it isnt coming from me.
Other problem of course is that most of the time we are at uni it is not the wakeboard season. |

"As we were on a chair lift we saw a boarder jump from a rock took a nasty landing and summersaulted left his board behind & fell twisting through the air at least 3 times. he stood up to show us all he was OK only for his board to catch up with him. it must of been doing at least 30MPH. It missed his head by inches and ran to the bottom of the valley a Mile or so down."
what was he doing mate? jumping off a rock with his board under his arm? sounds unlikely if a bit impossible!

Well it happend I really thought it was going to hit his head.
Why do you think it didn't happen? I have never put a board on and expect they break away from the boots the same as skies do. Even though skies have a kind of break system on them I can't see how a board does. If they do it didn't work on this one. I think you guys use a leach like surfers do? When i said rock I men't it was more like a 15ft or more drop on to the snow. His mates were watching from above looking pretty helpless. I doub't he ever got his board back. If he did it would have been one hell of a hike down then back up to the next chair. |

Also the board was likely to be doing over 70mph when it got going. I saw a board from a nursery slope smash through the front and back window of a car in Cham and it was only about 50m down the slope. It belonged to a girl giving lessons too, boy did she look embarrased |
