Default Moving to a sunnier country

Im sure lots of you wake up in the morning and must think F+ck it i have had enough with this ****. Time to move. Has anyone actually had the balls to go through with it?

Ive spent the last few years talking a great game about going to OZ but have never had the balls to just get a job there and do it. But now I find myself single after 8 years and its got me thinking again. At the moment im still just talkin a good game. But as normal if anyone has done it i have a few questions for u all.

Is the quality of life much better?

What if u have debt in the uk? I know of people who have mooved abroad and just knocked their debt and got things on HP and sold them on to get more cash in their pockets.

IF say for example i had an adult caution for being a naughty boy would that stop me getting a Visa if i was being sponsered by a company.

What problems did u face?

cheers peeps just fed up with the **** weather, the **** taxes over here and generally the way i feel the country is going doesnt fill me with hapiness but i had better not start getting all political

Re Quality of life. If you like the outdoros life it's the place to go. I lived there for a year (lifeguarding in Surfers Paradise - I know, I know - why did I come back?).

Having good weather for so much of the time opens up so many more options for stuff to do and if you're used to English weather you never get bored of it!

I know they're keen on people going over if you've got certain skills they need so I would check out the Australian High Commission website for details and requirements. It's not easy to get in 'cos so many people want to go!

I'd definitely live there again. My goal is to build my business so I can set up over there too. Endless summer!

About the debt thing I would try to get rid of it or it may cause issues with your visa. I also heard of someone who was moving abroad (Greece I think) for good so racked up loads of debt and skipped the country only for it to all fall apart and she had to come back to the debt! Her own fault but was it worth it? I don't think so.

So if a company was offering me a base of 100,000 how comfortable would i live in Sydney?

I reckon that would see you sweet but probably not enough to get a pad over looking the bay. That's like trying to get a place overlooking the Thames in London! V pricey.

Some of the suburbs are cool though. How cool would it be to catch a ferry to work in the a.m.?

I rented a house just down the road from AC/DC's lead singer but we had to cram it with 10 people to allow us poor backpackers to pay the rent. Unfortunately it was only 3 bedrooms! I only stayed a couple of weeks before I started work in Surfers.

Sydneys a good place to be but make sure you get out to see the country.

P.S. What do you do to get offered 100k? I may consider a change of profession.
