The course was with Kieth Knox @ Bomere WSC. [url="http://www.bomere.co.uk/"]
Was three days of intense tuition of the finer details of learning. There are some prerequisites but if you are able to hold a conversation and teach and board/ski a little its easy... However it is expensive as Kieth is one of the best in the country and you will not believe the lake till you get there. millpondflat 80% of the time, incredible. Best thing to do is ring you local BWSF club and ask them about courses and what you need to do to get them. Well worth it in the long run... (people don't mind you getting on thier boats so much!!!) you cannot be serious about learning (& landing) a roll, tantrum & bs 180 in one weekend can you? thats serious progression especially as i'd imagin to get your instructing up mr keith knox would be getting you to improve your basics. no offence meant by this but last summer was your first and you were only just getting the basics, to now be gettin those trix is sweet!! i'll pay alot of money for anyone to get me past my barrier of 101 grabs and my backroll in one weekend!! is that a challenge i've set. |

Are you saying that you are now a wakeboard, waterski coach? That is really good going to say that you couldn't do any of these last year! Well done. Will you teach me a Whirley 5 this weekend please. |

Someone reading this thresd will think that to get qualified you just turn up and get taught
But from what I remember you also have to do something like 10-12 hours coaching as part of your qualifiaction, so that would mean spending time at you local/own club to get your log book hours filled up. once you've done that, got your SBDA - 4 hrs min training, got your basic first aid certificate, then you can go for your ski instructor quals. As far as i know theres no quick fix and I am pretty sure KK would not condone a 'quicky' qualification. |

daveD,
yeah thats right, you've gotta get 10hrs of practice before you take the test also do first aid etc. but on the other hand to get the instructors qual' you only have to do a surface 3 and clear the wake. so your own riding doesn't have to be a great standard. i'm not refering to onepint here, cause last year he started and was working on the basics. and has been riding loads over the year and made some amazing improvement, i'm dead jealous cause he's catchin me up after my 3 years of riding! need to get my ass in gear and stop being lazy.... |
