Default SBDA and Qualifications

Been looking through the BWSF sites and been trying to see how to get the right Quals to instruct and drive. I know the SBDA is a non essential course for piloting a boat but still usefull so what are the following exams and then instructor courses? Also where can you do these in the midlands?

Cheers all

Al

Grendon held courses last year, may be worth contacting them. www.grendonlakes.co.uk

Default Get the right tuition

Definitely get the SBDA where you can and out of all the places I'd go to either John Battleday Waterski (jbski.com) or Quayside Wake & Ski (quaysws.co.uk - have Stewart Mackie do it with you).

There is no accounting for time driving in a ski school environment with someone you know is considered to be a good driver by good skiers and boarders. As far as the instructor courses are concerned the only place I know of that holds them that are worth while is JB ski. The BWS course is fairly standard, and you need a good couple of days with someone who knows what they're on about, and perhaps can give you a bit more than the basic course.

Get back in touch with me and I'll try and help out a bit. I'm one of three Wakeboard & Waterski Instructor Examiners at the moment but have been on the road freelance coaching for a little bit, so am just in the process of finding out the deal from the BWS with taking instructor courses wherever I want.

MC

Default Courses

well after a weekend of seriously intensive training that ended up with me learning back roll, tantrum, backside 180, shov it (wakeskate), and completely learning to monoski from scratch inc deep water starts and virages (what a ridiculous sport) i think i am ready for my three days @ bomere ski for SBDA, Wakeboard instructor and Waterski instructor.

Thanks for all the help though, this is not a cheap set of courses but i know worth it in the end...

Anyone need an instructor for the summer!!!

Alex
