Default computer sounds problems.

Hey, recently the sound for my laptop has sotpped working. At the start when it loads on to the desktop it comes up and asks for some softwear to put the sound on it. Im pretty sure my computer didn't come with any other discs exsept XP.

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers

laptops of late have become disposable... mine bust every year and thus get replaced every 12-14 months.

Got any warranty left?

also... Windows should have built in drviers for any sound management.. thus should be able to sort it... try taking your shizzle off.. and doing a clean windoes install, then putting your stuff back on.

Will speed it up, clean it out and most likely fix your issue.

If you right click on computer and go to the tab that shows what hardware you have installed. Have a look for the little audio speaker icon and it should be there with a driver showing... if it shows an error for the audio card then you need to get the latest driver and install that.... do us a screen shot and we can help more.
