Wakesurfing behind an I/O

Now i know they always say don't wakesurf behind an I/O but does anyone actuall do it? I have a 230 Sea Ray Select which is an I/O so idk if i want to spend money on a wakesurf if i can't eve do it...


my theory is the boat is moving so when you fall you stop moving therefore you are out of harms way. Now im also a 14 year old that thinks they know it all . So can ahyone give me some advice, or tell me if this could injure me in any way.

The wakesurf board often catches up the boat and travels faster than the 9.5mph you often wakesurf at. Many a time my surf hits the backboard of my boat which is an inboard ie catches up the boat. Okay an experienced wakesurfer might be able to calculate some risks ie getting off the board when it is catching up the prop but even then the good guys get it wrong and could risk serious injury trying to wake surf behind i/o. I am sure people have done it/tried without injury. But in the long run you hit an unlucky situation and hit the prop. My view is if you want to wakesurf only do it behind inboards and even then you need to be real sensible. Do it behind your i/o and you are risking serious injury!!
