Instructors wanted for the BDWSA Yorks & Central
The Yorkshire & Central region of the British Disabled Water Ski Association are looking for people who would like to get involved as volunteer instructors.
Ideally we are looking for people who are pretty competent on a pair of skis because the majority of the work that we do is alongside disabled people, guiding, instructing and assisting. However we also need people who could train up to be observers in the boat, assist at the lakeside and look after the running order.
We are holding our annual instructor training weekend at Nottingham Ski Lagoon on the 3rd and 4th of May. There's the possibility of camping / caravanning next to the lake for anyone wishing to stay the whole weekend.
Yorkshire & Central operate courses at Treeton, Knaresborough, Covenham, Nottingham and Llyn Gerionyd in Snowdonia. (See the link below for more details.) We cater for people with any disability and have a van full of specially adapted and designed equipment which enables us to get pretty much anyone out on the water.
If you are interested in getting involved give me a call on 07970 617441. (Evenings and weekends only please so as not to get me into trouble with the day job!)
All the best,
Alisdair
