Default Those VW Diesels in the Ski Boat Zone South 280

Got the flickr photo area working so here's a test image. It's of the twin diesel 280 they had at the Southampton boat show. Sweet install you'll agree.

I guess it's a Maristar 280. They reckon it's smokeless.

Bit more info here: http://www.mastercraft.com/index.php...PressOne&id=32

Dan,

Looking at the figs it'd out pull any petrol counterpart. Diesels produce so much more torque over petrol like for like displacement; in my opinion they are the way forward until someone else *cough* EPIC gets their electric boat ideas down.

Nice to see MC UK pushing some innovation here, we always seem to get what the yanks give us but both Simon's need some cred for this.

Yes, it was their Maristar 280, a beast of boat before you consider the twin VW TDIs. Here's another shot from a slightly different angle.

I had an enjoyable hour or so sitting inside the 280 discussing the new VW engines and the forthcoming X-Star sound system install that was shown at the London boat show. Adam from SBZS and Simon were both very excited about their new VW hookup, and rightly so... wonder if I can retrofit one to my 230

I'd be interested on the diesel front to see the fuel efficiency values (even with the whopping tax rise on diesel)... probably not a biggie for private owners like myself but important for wake schools and clubs.
