Hi, are you asking about that specific boat (e.g. who owned it before?) or are you asking what is that model like in general?

Default Mastercraft Maristar - Used

I am looking at a used MC Maristar ---- it is a 2005 ---- but I was if anyone had experience wakeboarding behind one. It looks like a great boat --- but without ballast, I am wondering if I will outgrow it fast?????

Theres nothing stopping you adding ballast. Just chuck in some fat sacs and or barrels.

Hi, well I've got a 99 Maristar 230 so I can help out with some info. Sadly I did my ankle in before I got to ride my newly purchased 230 last year so here's what I know without actually getting behind it:

1) It's big... probably a little too big for small lake use... though good if you want to use it on a large lake that may have 1m chop and waves. I chose mine because I go out on the sea and needed it's rough water handling capabilities.

2) The interior size is excellent for getting a lot of people and their gear on board. Think a couple up front and easily another 7 in the body of the boat if you have the wrap around seats, 6 with the sports seats. The rear two lockers are massive, I get in mine to look at the engine.

3) The wake looks pretty good without ballast though until I get my board on and try it out I can't give you a fair comparison to say an X2.

4) Fatsacs would be easy to add in the two rear lockers and up front under the seats/between the seats. I did read that it wasn't that great to load up due to it's high bouyancy...e.g. extra weight didn't give you the extra wake size you would expect. Again I should know exactly what extra weight does when I get mine back on the water in a month.

5) Tower wise you can order an OEM or a generic to pimp it out.. mine arrives soon and we'll be doing an article on fitting it.

6) Quality wise they are very nice, plush feeling with excellent handling... can't wait to get mine back in use - not long now
