Hey has anyone ridden a the remodeled Mastercraft X1, seems really reasonablly priced, considering getting one when i get back to the UK, what does everything think of them... or is it worth saving the pennys for say an X2, just wondered how substancial the difference is... because riding the Xstar and the X2 theres not a whole lot of difference unless your pulling Whirly 7's!
Anyway if anyones tried one out can you let me know what you think. |

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but I think the X1 is a previous years X2 and so on. As far as I know they are like rocking horse **** to find in the UK.

i ride behind the 2006 X1 basically it is the new name for the old X2 due to the new X2 changing shape. There aint alot of difference between X1 and X2 as far as size etc goes and gadgets. X2 is just a little wider and sqaure up front. My next door neighbour has the X2 it probably has a little more style about it and a couple of little tweeks on the gadgets - As far as the difference in ride goes i have not been behind the X2 but i have a couple of mates with new boats a tige 2006 and nautique 2005 that i am riding behind this year as well and they do not offer any more than the X1 ( i actually prefer the kick you get off the wake on the X1 as opposed other boats i am riding but i suppose maybe this is personal preference ). One main point however that from price 27 grand will get you a hull, engine and a seat to sit on. Not quite what the picture shows!! when you add ballast, towers, stereo , speakers , heaters , trailers and everything else you want to make a great wakeboard boat you will not get alot of change out of 40 grand new in UK.

I'd agree with the last comment. If you spec an X1 up to a reasonable level your not to far away from a X2 price (MC UK have just put a couple of very low hr X2s up for sale). I get the impression MC dealers are not to keen on the X1 as it kinda makes it harder to sell the more expensive models (cos the X1 is so good). Also if they sell X1 to cheap the resale values will be lower they will be concerned about price errosion on the brand.
With all that said there both great boats with a proven pedigree!! |
