Just a quick update to say the problem has been solved when I did a bit of testing and noticed that the issue of dodgy idle etc happened without engaging gears.

I basically turned the engine on from cold and noted the heat kept on going up above the usual running temperature. I decided it was overheating causing the problem and fixed it by double checking the closed water cooling and removing the feeds to the heater. After purging the air in the system we were back to normal... result! and I got there quicker than my engineer so it cost nothing to solve.

Rich and I took the boat out for a 'Wakechat Board Meeting' after the fix and happy to say we had an awesome time... also checking out his new board recommended by other Wakechat users ;-)

Well I had hoped the mechanic did but not entirely convinced next time she goes in after the winter I'll only believe what I check myself.

Will reconnect the feeds when I find the instructions for the heater bleeding... you don't happen to know whether there's a bleed valve on the heater unit I need to use do you TB?
