Default 04 x2 convert to LPG 350mx engine

Boat used loads of fuel on Saturday and with it set to keep on rising I think its time to go LPG. I'll give most things mechanical a go so fancy takeing on the conversion my self. Not sure if this is a problem with my engine and its electronics. Any advice or anyone done a conversion on my engine? (Indmar MCX 350hp)

These guys offer diy kits and look to have marine experience.

DIY LPG Car Conversions

Also can you get tanks for transporting LPG around?

Forklift tanks fit very well down the sides of a v drive engine. Thats what I use. Problem is they have kimited capacity (about 70L the pair) but it saves on having to drive the boat about to refuel.

There's no problem converting a mcx. Do you want to go dual fuel or just LPG?

Forklift tanks! Thanks for the tip. By "saves on having to drive the boat to refuel" do you mean you can remove the tanks and take them to the 'gas station'?

Definetly dual fuel. (but changing it over doesnt have to be swish)

*EDIT where do you get forklift tanks from?

and would a kit from a jeep grand cherokee be suitable?

LPG FULL KIT CAME OFF JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 1996-99 on eBay, also, Jeep, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 22-Jun-08 20:57:14 BST)

I buy my forklift bottles ready filled from my local flogas dealer delivered to my door for free. I used to get 6 bottles delivered every week and they used to just collect the emptys at the same time. You can't refill them yourself.

I have seen some really cool composite (hence a lot lighter than forklift bottles) refillable portable tanks used on boats in the netherlands.

Don't mess about trying to get a kit off ebay and adapting it to your boat. Its dangerous and wont work. Read back on the previous thread about LPG conversions as I listed the parts required on a sport nautique. You'd need pretty much the same IMPCO kit.

Found some other threads on here and had a read.

My engine has the vortex intake, so Ive read that a single point could make some cylinders run lean. But you stated in the most recent thread that you have seen people running single point with simliar manifolds with no problems.

Is there anybody in Canada that does a diy kit with everything I need?

Impco list the chevy 5.7 on there website. But I cant find a UK impco dealer to phone up?
