Default X2 tower 07 onwards

I'm looking at a couple of options for a new boat including x2.

I've no doubt it and other boats I'm looking at will be way better than I can do justice to, however heard a few negative comments about latest tower design, looks great but a few people say it flex's quite a bit.

Anyone out there got one and have first hand experience.

Have seen a couple of boats with braces on, are these standard or options, MC or supermarket. The fact they exist suggests standard tower might have issues.

Actually, if anything I'd say the older towers flex even more. The pre '06 towers had a tendency to wobble about.

Regardless, they are still great towers and in any case; a little bit of flex is no bad thing. The new towers have joints at the rear bases too so a little wobbling shouldn't' do any harm - though its too early to confirm this absolutely.

I'd not let any concerns over the towers sway you from the purchase of a MasterCraft... great boats. If i were you I'd also check out Nautique and Malibu before making your mind up though.

Thanks for that, it seems hard to get an unbiased opinion about MC and CC in particular as a lot of brand loyalty.

I thought I'd narrowed it down to an X2 but figured it made sense to look at other options. Was very impressed with the new Super Air 210 which appears to be a little better value though both pretty expensive.

Both seem to be very good and as I say way better than I can do justice to, I think it just comes down to what deal can be done in the end.

I noticed the tower on the 210 was very substantial and solid but figured MC wouldn't be putting out a boat with dodgy tower.

Absolutely, MC wouldn't be selling the boats if something as basic as the tower was below par.
The new 210 is a beautiful boat for sure, I had the old 210 and loved it to bits.

If you like these boats I bet you'd be blown away by the new 2009 Malibu VLX - there isn't one in the UK yet but from what I've seen its going to be a real beaut. Full colour 7" LCD screen on the dash, tweaked tower, tweaked windscreen to name just a few... The 2007 was one of my favourite boats of all time but looks like its about to be trumped!

I spent a week with a 08 VLX in Florida, loved it. The vride is apparently as good, slightly lower spec trim and smaller hull. Worth considering.

The VRide is the older VLX... still an awesome boat too but yup, its in a more basic guise

I am in love with 'bu at the mo... really awesome boats. There's some nay sayers around but I'm afraid most of their opinions came direct from a factory that rhymes with Raster-Mast
