Supra Looks to Take Their Sponsorship of the
2008 WWA Wakeboard World Championships to the Next Level
Maryville, TN (February 28, 2007) ~ The WWA’s most renowned event of the year, the Rockstar WWA Wakeboard World Championships presented by Supra, returns to a new destination in 2008. Downtown Oklahoma City’s Oklahoma River is the new host location for the Worlds September 4th – 7th. Supra is charged up to take this event to the next level with Rockstar, The WWA and World Sports and Marketing Group.
Last year was the first year that the World’s was exclusively towed by Supra. The event experienced unprecedented support from Supra and their co-sponsors offering riders a Roswell commemorative DVD as a keepsake of their experience riding in the championships. In addition, Supra offered a Riding Acclimation Clinic, an XTP Family Bowling Night, the Kicker Dinner of Champions and the acclaimed Kenwood Hospitality Suite.
After the success of last years event, Rick Tinker, President of Skiers Choice asked, “What can we do to make the World’s even bigger and better in 2008?” Plans have been underway since the close of the ‘07 World’s. Get ready for high-flying action on the water and good times on the ground, Supra will take their sponsorship even further in 2008. “We are glad to have this opportunity to give back to the sport which we love,” stated Rick Tinker.
The WWA has added a new division to this years’ championship. Women thirty and over now have their own division, Masters Women. This group did a good job rallying to get their own division.
