Default where to ride

is there anywhere I can get reviews of the various clubs around the country? We are thinking of taking my 11 year old daughter to ride at the Wiremill Water-Ski Club near East Grinstead, purely because its the closest to home, but I don't see anyone raving about the club here. I'd be grateful if someone would venture an opinion...

hi ya

the wiremill eh! that takes me back - i used to go there a lot in my teens although the pub rather than use the ski lake ;o)

i am not sure what it is like now but my gf's mother used to teach people to ski there all the time many years ago. i dont mind asking her if she knows anyone there now but i very much doubt she does.

as for other clubs i would know as i am a bit new to all this but the south coast isnt that far away from east grinstead and there are bound to be places you could go to there.

i wish my mother took me when i was 11!!

the trouble with the south coast is that I'm too bl**dy lazy to get up and pack all the kids in the car and drive down there at some obscenely early hour on a Saturday/Sunday for what are generally quite short lessons.

If someone offered a kids club type place, with half-day sessions and decent group instruction followed by individual rides that would be great, but it doesn't seem like any clubs have picked up on that idea.

hey ho, I guess the Wiremill will do - at least to get her a grounding in the basics. Then if she's still keen to be the next greatest thing in wakeboarding we may just have to reconsider where she rides.

If there are any other parents out there in the south-east, with kids of a similar age to Sarah, I'd love to hear what you guys do to keep the small people happy :0)

point taken - will ask her anyway just in case she does keep in contact with old skiing crowds etc
