Default Binding Setup

I am currently tweaking the bindings on a board I have (a 2002 O'Brien Swindle 139). I have tried several different positions and am wondering how most people set them up. The problem I had was ankle comfort. Is it best to toe the bindings in, out or just experiment with both to find the position of best comfort? The board was originally to be used for my wife in a WSD tricks division but she chose instead to go to a kneeboard. I started boarding on the board and find it a far better board than the one I was using previously so I took it over. On my previous board I had the bindings set with toes pointed straight out with no problems. There must be a difference in the rocker causing my ankle pain. I am getting ready to replace the bindings but I won't know if that solves everything until tonight. Anyone else experience something like this? If it makes any difference, I am a goofy-footer.

Hope this helps.

Stand on a chair. Jump off and try to land shoulder width apart. Look at the angle of your feet. This is the stance your legs want to be in. Duplicate on board. Adjust as necessary over time.

I actually replaced the bindings today with a new pair of O'Brien System bindings and set them up toed out slightly. I skied on it today with no ankle pain, so it looks like it was mostly the bindings that were originally on it. I made a few other changes to it and after today am quite pleased with the end result.
