I just can't figure out toeside jumps. I have the hardest time with them...i cut out as far as i do with a regular heelside jump. i cut i pop...i get no height nor distance. any advice?

im just mastering those. as you know make a progressive cut, keep your chest open and your head up, try and keep a bit more weight on your back arm, this willl stop you un crossing in the air. straighten your legs and reach skyward with your chest while keeping the handle in and moving it down your thigh, then soft landing
i try a couple with releasing the handle to get the right position, just keep the chest up and you wont go over the front of the board. |

If you can get your hands on a copy of the new UK DVD - Destruction Manual - it describes how to set yourself up for Toeside Jumps. It's a very good DVD. Louise Moore was teaching me these jumps last weekend at Grendon and it was exactly as said above, chest up, handle low and hips facing as far away from the boat as possible. Bend knees on landing. I kept falling off on landing until she told me to bend my knees and I then stayed up. This was only a one wake toeside jump, but was getting at least half way across. Good Luck. Mandie |
