Hi im new to the sport and have been boarding for around 4 weeks every sunday, I use a fletcher gto 80 hp outboard wich has more than enough power but im not sure about the wake, I can only get about 3 foot of air and have heard lots about catching the pop at the right time so how do i know when, allso the towing poll is only at about wasteheight when boarding could this be the problem and how high should it be. A ny help will be greatly appreciated

Hmmmmmmmm, where do I start...
The height of your pole DOES help you get more air but at your level of riding it won't make much of a difference- I used to have the rope tied to a harness around the outboard leg at water level and I could fly 6ft off the water- plus my rig was 14ft and only 50 horses. Your rig sounds perfect for beginners so no probs there- with four hefty mates in it you should have about a foot and a half of wake at the biggest point, make sure your rope length is right to hit this point in the wake. You want to get really good at popping off the side of the wake from inside out before you want to go for some orbital air. On small wakes technique and timing is critical for good air- you have to really pump your legs, aiming to combine the pop from your legs with the upward throw you'll get from riding up the slope of the wake. Remember your progessive cut on the way in and a grab for style once you're up :P

you need a big net, and some gloves, but air can be a hard thing to catch so you may also need an air detector, good luck

the pole height wouldnt be a hinderence until you progress a lot further, but a higher pole will help
