Default WHY IS THERE A TAX ON FUN. HELP!

I have just returned from 18 months in France where i bought a boat and started wakeboarding. Used a beautiful large warm clean freshwater lake. Launch was free, mooring was free, parking was free and you did not  need need to join any clubs, associations or become affiliated,or even have boat insurance!!
I do have boat insurance cos i am a sensible chap, but on returning to England proudly with my boat i have discovered you are not allowed to use it anywhere without paying everyone else. Tried to find a public slipway to use on the sea but that is no good either. Best result so far is Hartlepool Marina £100. I only want a couple of pulls before winter. I live in Darlington does anyone know where i can go locally for free.

P.s launched boat at 8 different locations in france and never got charged anywhere, anyone fancy coming back!!!

Rip off UK, thats what it is, makes you think though, why are the french always still so misserable, are they just on one big hangover!

Think the place you were looking for (£40 reg. fee for all year) has just be slapped with a 10mph speed limit, that was the last public lake left, Windermeer!

Hi
Have you tried Redcar, we were up there a few weeks ago and there was some jetskis on the sea, we looked into it but u really need a 4 x 4 to go across the sand!!

There is a reservoir near Barnard Castle called Balldershead where you have to be a member, and I am not sure how much it costs.

Its just a couple of suggestions!! Hope they help!!

If I had a lake, I'd let you use it for a couple of pulls before winter for free. Unfortunately I don't have one. Sorry

My dad's got a big field out the back. Has anyone got a JCB I can borrow? I may be able to dig a great big hole and fill it with water. (Well, it might work!)
