Default Storage?

Hi, I am new to wakeboarding, started this summer, and progressed well (if I don’t say so myself). I have a board (Hyperlite 3DS DNA 139) and at the moment, I am just carrying around when I go boarding. I plan to go to the south of France at the weekends to board soon (my girlfriend has a flat down there, handy I know), and need a good bag which I could travel with (won’t get damaged on the plane) and that would be good to store my board in during the really cold months. Has anyone got any suggestions/recommendations and also a good place to get bags?

Thanks for any help

JR

Get yourself another board in France and leave it at your girlfriends flat.
Air travel with a wakeboard is like shopping at ASDA with a coffin in your trolly, a pain in the ass.

Handy as the flat might be I don't think you're gonna get much boarding done down there . . . . . unless she has her own X80 aswell. Most places run may-oct.

Where are you thinking of riding?

My girlfriend has been skiing/boarding for years down there.

She has a family friend with a few boats including a Mastercraft X2 I think (think he was some national skiing champion or something and has just opened his own place), and lets her ride most of the year!

I am not too sure what the place is called, only been there twice, but it was awesome boarding. I can try and find out for you though! It is a fantastic long thin lake just outside Cane (spelling?).

hmmm... don't think my wallet can stretch for another board, I am only a student after all. But thanks for the advice anyway! I guess I can always rent!

never had any trouble with mine, plus most airlines add the option of taking sports equipment nowadays as so many people do, so when you get there they are expecting it and you check it in. It costs an extra £10 on easyjet. Plus you can get sport equipment insurance cover from your travel insurance broker. my bag is padded any way, but i also put all the my clothes in there so the board is definately protected. it is a bit nervy wainting for it to come out the other end, but your covered if it doesnt.
