Question What's wrong with me?

At the start of the season I hated "Fashion Air's" I thought (and still think) they are the most stupid looking trick in wakeboarding.

However, I did feel that I could not choose not to do a trick if I was not able to do it. Therefore I decided to learn it, with the intention of doing it once and then choosing never to draw on it again.

The first time I tried it, I tore the ligaments in my ankle. (I didn't get the board back underneath me for landing, and the long laces on my Exit 13's wrapped around my ankle and caused much pain.) So it was a long process to get the trick down. Now I can do it, I can't stop. I've seen the pictures and it still looks like a stupid trick. But I've even started pulling it off double-ups.

What is wrong with me? Is there a cure?

My wife loves the fashion air. When ever we get new people on the boat she tells me to do it.

Actually if your not taking it seriously its a fun trick! Its when you actually try to perfect it or add it to your regular trick list that it becomes sad.

My 2p worth:

It looks funny, 1st time I saw this guy do it I was thinking "what the fek?? That looks stoopid!" but now its like a comedy move that you can do to get a laugh from the boat. Its kind of uber-cool. Its not gnarly or anything- you can go out and float some grabs or BS manouevres for style and then you can counterpoint it with a fashion air or some big slashes at the wake.

Please note the following is not politically correct:

They're gay.. ( I hope you're keeping that flappy trailing hand on the handle now dude, or sticking a grab on with it)

I did see Will at MK pull a massive fashion raley. impressive.. but still gay

(And no, I haven't tried... I think I'd rather go for a method)
