using washing up liquid to get into bindings

I tried that tesco value stuff a while ago, but found that it dispersed straight away, and if your bindings are tight, it was hard to get out of them.. that was while my bindings were still pretty new, so maybe if they're worn in it will be OK. Failing that, there's always Ecover washing up liquid... environmentally friendly and does the trick nicely.
