rookie questions??? HELP PLEASE!!!

ok i have had a wakeboard for several years but havent taken it that seriously, mainly ive just been messing around and jumping the wake a few times. I have skateboarded and snowboarded for years, and now i really want to master wakeboarding.

that being said, i have a blindside dv8 wakeboard with blindside bindings. I dont know much about brands, but is this setup a piece of junk or not?
If so, !!!!what kind of board would you guys recommend for me???!!! i am 5'11 150-170 pounds, it changes alot. and im looking for somethin i can get pretty technical with

also i was thinking about getting a pylon for my boat it is a princecraft vacanza i think is the model. its a nice open bow boat and i dont see many of them around. My rope attachment is right above the outboard motor as it is right now. !!WOuld a pylon make a huge difference in my hang time???!!!
