Question cant get up

Ok, I have been able to get up once, but haven't been able to get up again. I am plowing and am almost getting up every time I just can't get the board to pop out of the water, most times I am a. Few inches under water and just can't break the surface.. Any suggestions?

I am starting behind a boat with a ski hook about a foot and a half off the water, and I am using about a 55 foot rope.

Don't start with your board UNDER the water.

If you are on your back, you want to tuck your knees up to your chest. This will have your board perpendicular to the water level, half poking out. The boat goes, and you let it pull you up (it rolls you up). Your board should not go under the water unless you try and stand too quickly.

I suggest buying an instructional DVD or even go for a few lessons somewhere just to get you going. they will be able to point out what you are doing wrong. It is very easy once you knwo what you are doing!

Without watching or knowing exactly how you're starting, it's gonna be hard for anyone to give you the specific, correct advice.

Try this link for starters and compare what it says to how you're currently doing it.

Main thing I would say is keep your arms straight and don't fight the boat. Good luck.

With the rope so low to the water its hard to keep the board from becoming submerged

There a nice litle video on getting up on the cwb website. You'll find it in Training part of the Video section: http://ridecwb.com/2006/index.php
