Default Riding Cable - which board/size do I need?

Hi -

I will most likely spend 95% of my time riding behind a cable tow (thorpe and princes lake) rather then a boat. Does this kind of riding suit a different kind of board and binding to riding behind a boat?

I am about 14 stone (200lb's?) and 5'11". What length board should I use? I am an experienced snowboarder and am generally at home on boards.

Can anyone recommend a particular board? I'm looking for last years model or something second hand. Is there something to look out for when buying a second hand board?

Sorry for all the questions -

your 14 and 5'11?!? im 13 about a month from being 14 and im not even 5'2 yet. it will be really hard learning inverts if your that big.

just use the same size board you use on the water.. if you dont know that i say like a...137-140 get a wide board if your heavy though

In general you should be able to do well on a 135 board, doesn't really matter which one. Make sure though it's of high quallity so it will last you longer.

grtzzzz

Hi there

makes interesting reading... I am 5'-4" tall & currently ride a 135 board. I would certainly NOT recommend you go for this length it is too short for your height & weight. This size would in my opinion hinder your progress. You would be better to look at around 139 / 141 range of boards.
