Hi
i have just taken up wakeboarding and would like to know if possible what the normal level of progresison i should expect. i have only been 4 times, today being my 4th time, and finally managed to get across the wake and back over and managing to pop a little jump.. which suprised me! at present i am only going once a week due to work comitments and funds bnut what sort of progression should i expect over the summer. ![]() |

Hi Georgie
Don't worry about progression at this stage ! Whoever you are riding with Should know how far to push you in terms or riding achievements. Most importantly enjoy every ride as it were your last and you will start to achieve your goals ! And just go for it !!!!! :-) |

had another session this evening. was possibly the worst one so far.
the place i go to has always put me on a 143 board, i always felt it was a little big but they said it was fine, i am 5'6 and weight about 140 lbs. today they put me on a 133 board and had massive issues. i was up first time every time but the front of the board was going under and it was just a mess. before i would be up and do it with ease, but was fighting with the board to get up this time. now have no issues getting across the wake. have good control of the board and i can go where i please and not even have tot hink about it. am able to pop a few inches off the wake and stay up, surf on the wake and generally pootle about. a few questions, i am gonna buy my own board now, i am enjoying it lots and want to continue it, i have had the offer of boat sharing so that is much better. for my height and weight what board size would be best. the 143 was massive, the bindings were not as tight as they could be but meh. the 133 was probally too small for my feet, very squished and when my feet came out mid ass plant was a pain to get it back on. so i presume somewhere inbetween. also, i am posssibly going to thorpe on sunday hopefully, never done cable tows.. so i supose more face planting action. woo and indeed yey. but behind a boat, what shall i try to do next, i am going for a 4 hour session (several 15 min slots) on monday and i want to be able to go on both feet at the front, i have my right foot back atm and want to be able to have both that way, i gues this will make things easier when i come to learn tricks etc. Georgie |

Board siz as you say should be somewhere in the middle, about 137-138. The 133 is way too small, and a 143 would suit somebody who is 6 foot+ and weighs 200lbs. At Thorpe you can test boards from the shop, for a deposit of £10.00. (refundable if you buy) so is well worth doing. whatever you do dont skimp on bindings, they must be comfortable and fit correctly. If you are in the area at the weekend there is a demo day at Princes on Saturday along with the British Cable Nationals so would be a good opportunity to see all boards from all of the manufacturers and also try them out. info for this would be on princes.com And also see thetop U.K.riders on the cable. Good luck
