I'll look into the links and weigh up the pro's and cons. £180 don't seem to bad even if i have to fork out twice!. Are they something you change as you progress? Will I need to drop down a size if/as i get better (like surfing)? or due to my size I tend to stick to that lenght and get something a little more trick?

Thanks for the note on the cables, sheff would be the closest to me. 50 miles or so I think.

The boat is a Arrowstreak GTS, sterndrive with a 135 hp mercruiser inboard. It's a ex ski boat (fresh water) but has never had a ski pole or boom as I can see. I use it down Abersoch way as I have family and a caravan there now. I get to use it a couple of times a month plus more on the school hols (never enough!).

I could offer free rides/pull's (ooooeeer matron) in exchange for basic tips!!

I don't know if it needs a tower or not yet. I used it without on saturday but I suppose it's one of these thing you work up to. Or am I making it harder for myself (and family!) without one?

i have the same boat as u!
Brought a big air pylon from tower boy, it takes up a bit of room in the boat but its well worth it,
It makes getting out the water effortless and u can jump twice as high, i can now wake to wake with pylon and before could not even get close.
So for around 250 mark it a good thing to have and you can remove it.
Also none of my mates could get out of the water but now they can.

If you can run to a tower it will be better as it leaves you more room in the boat. And racks will keep the boards out of the boat too.

Well bought at FM board from Justwatersports as per the previous link.

Spoke to lesley and gave her my tale of woe..she suggested a FM influence 143 and bindings would suit us all early on and as we progress, the girls could get a smaller board.

Just thought I tell you in case someone else is in the same situation.

Oh, and they were great people, sold me what I needed not what I did not and talk about quick.

My (only!) advice to newbies is to contact them straight off. A real pleasure, and no, I'm not taking a cut for saying this!!

Totally agree they are very knowledgeable and will chat and look for the most appropriate rather than most expensive and do not go for the hard sell.
