Default Just starting out

hey all,

My dad has a 22 foot boston whaler, and I really want to get into wakeboarding. Would this boat work, and/or would I need to pay for any additions to be put onto it?

I was looking at this board package- CWB - 2006 Sol 135 w/ Mobe - BuyWake.com with the rope/handle combo. I am 5'11" and weigh about 140 pounds and I have no experience wakeboarding.

Also I was thinking about purchasing this life vest- Quiksilver - 2006 Distressed USCG (Silver) - BuyWake.com

Is there anything else I should be looking into? And in your experienced opinions would this equipment work for me?

Thanks for your time and responses.

hiya mate,
glad to see yet another person starting out

i started out riding behind a 15ft whaler about 4 years ago, and to be honest with a 70hp on the back of it i could get up and ride around a bit.

with a 22 footer you'll have plenty of power behind you, only downside being that the whaler has a very low towing point, so would benefit from a ski pole at the back IMO. other than that you're good to go

board wise it looks like a pretty good selection of kit you're after. good beginner kit, meaning you can progres as and when you're ready.

hope my info has helped

good luck

Totally agree with above comments about the boat. For a beginner the Whaler will be absolutely fine for starting out.
