Question complete beginer

well i just got my first wake board which i love and cherish

i have a few questions about the sport though.
1-i heard putting soap on your feet or in the bindings helps. should i use this?

2-what can i do to keep my board alive? just to keep it up through the years.

3-the fins that came with my board arn't flush with the board (they arn't on yet) and i was wondering if that means they gave me the wroung fins.
pic- http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/2662/wakefinwa5.jpg

4-the screws that came with the board to attatch the fins also came with little plastic washers. do they go under or above the board?

plz help, thanks!

Using a little soap will help you get bindings on ,use bio degradable if you can or slime. only need a little from wakeboard shop.
a lot of board damage is done on the dock, so just take care with the ends.dry down when finished using and repair any damage, however small straight away with 2 part araldite to stop any water getting into the core.
this often happens with fins. just file the part of the fin which is in contact with the board so it lays flush.
Plastic washers on top of board.
Also the way your bindings are set on your board are too far forward on the toes.level them so that when your foot is in the binding it is in the centre. both bindings should oint outwards and be symetrical.

Araldite is a glue which you can get from any hardware store. If you mix the glue together (as instructions) and apply to any holes in the board like filler. then put tape over the top of the repair and leave to dry, this will make a good repair. after this remove tape and sand gently if needed.does anyone have any pics of this? may help the explanation.
Dont worry about small scratches unless they are deep.

okay wht kinda tape and yea a pic tutorial would do wonders lol.

the what i call "skin" or the colored painted top little layer of teh boared pealed up a small amount in one spot of the front of my board. is that anything to wory about? i just push it down and it is fine and it rarely is even noticable, it just sticks back where i pressed it and is smaller that half a penny.
